Biography
Marc Broude (born August 23, 1984) is an American cross-genre composer who started in the experimental noise band Panicsville in 2005. In 2006 he joined doom/stoner metal outfit Zog.
Marc’s style is eclectic using low frequency sound exploration, field recordings, water, voltage-controlled oscillators, vocal moaning, screaming, scordatura notation and drop C tuning. Marc’s sound draws from diverse musical genres including dark ambient, drone, power electronics, experimental, lo-fi, avant-garde and industrial. Broude has cited David Lynch as his only musical influence.
Marc has collaborated with a diverse array of artists and groups including Cock E.S.P., Joseph Nechvatal, Hair Police, Kenji Siratori, Noisebitch and Lasse Marhaug. In 2009 Broude released Rites of Zen which included only 1 track totaling 72 minutes of bass drone, subliminal messaging and whispered vocals on the topics of mind control and sleep deprivation. The album was followed by a split album with Belgian artist Sequences on Broude's own label No Zen Records.
